OneBeat
OneBeat is an incubator for music-based social entrepreneurship where innovative musicians from around the world launch collaborative projects designed to make a positive impact on local and global communities. An initiative of the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the groundbreaking New York-based music organization Bang on a Can's Found Sound Nation, OneBeat employs collaborative original music as a potent new form of cultural diplomacy.
Oikyotaan
Oikyotaan, a contemporary folk platform that aims at performing, archiving and spreading the infectious philosophy and melody of Indian folk traditions. The sound is rooted in the rhythm and melody of Indian folk music, with a special emphasis on Baul music from Bengal. Their foundation of sound is created, using an equal set of unique components from Indian folk-classical and other forms of contemporary music. I was involved as a performing/touring musician during the period 2003-2012
Karnatriix
The name 'kARNATRiix' which is a word play, meaning ‘Aural Trickery’, openly defines their music. Mellifluous melodies and sophisticated phrases deep-rooted in Blues music with an Indian Classical touch, combined with raw percussion and electronically produced subtle beats, voices and effects, form the core essence of the band’s musical nature.
